Around 2013, CaShawn Thompson sparked a trend that has no signs of slowing down or giving up. She coined the hashtag #BlackGirlsAreMagic. Shortly after, she began selling t-shirts with the phrase on it. The phrase has spawned books, songs, campaigns, wine, and inspired three generations of Black women, girls, and femmes. Fully inclusive and welcoming to all Black girls, #BlackGirlsAreMagic merchandise was recently relaunched with an expanded line of products. My primary goals was ease of use for CaShawn’s customers. Online shopping can be a daunting task if you’re not tech savvy or are anxious about buying online. I wanted to ensure that Black Girls Are Magic was an accessible site for everyone.
